Introduction to my up and coming art exhibition 20025
My collection is called simply, Communication, a theme I am carrying on from my previous 2024 exhibition, Upon Reflection.
Communication is the thread that weaves through every human interaction—yet so often, it frays, knots, or unravels. This series of three sculptures explores the fragile, fragmented, and layered nature of how we express, withhold, and interpret meaning.
The first piece, "Still Loving You", transforms several lines of a poem I wrote into Morse code, a language built for clarity yet here rendered nearly unreadable—symbolizing messages that are lost, broken, or never fully received.
The second sculpture, "Unzipped Conversations", uses painted panels embedded with zips of varying sizes. As each zip is opened, a word is revealed—echoes of both connection and conflict—inviting the viewer to reflect on what we choose to hide or reveal in our dialogue with others.
The third work, "Mind in Translation", is a rounded form inscribed with scattered, clashing words. It mirrors the inner noise of a confused mindset, where clarity gives way to contradiction, and meaning becomes hard to pin down.
Together, these pieces ask a simple but profound question: Are we truly hearing each other—or just making noise?
